Scientific Advisory Board

The goal of the GeMPIRe study is to examine how prejudice experienced in school, healthcare, and family settings is linked to mental health and substance use among transgender and nonbinary young adults with intersecting sexual orientation and racial/ethnic identities.

Funding

The GeMPIRe Study is funded by an R01 grant from NIH, awarded to Dr. Katz-Wise.

Current Status

We are finalizing manuscripts for this study.

Community Advisory Board

A Community Advisory Board (CAB) played an important role in shaping this project. The CAB included 9 transgender and nonbinary young adults (ages 18-25) from across the US with diverse identities and experiences, who advised our research team, ensuring community members' perspectives were reflected in the study..

Research Summaries

Our team is committed to sharing findings from our research with community members through brief non-academic summaries of the academic papers we've published.
